MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes recently talked about Philippine basketball with the NBA stars who are here in the country for a couple of charity games against Gilas Pilipinas.
Reyes shared an incredible story about what happened after super typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) hit the country last year, where survivors made a make-shift basketball court despite the devastation they experienced.
"...that's just the kind of passion and love that this country has for the sport (basketball)," Reyes said during the press conference of PLDTHome: The Last Home Stand All Star Charity event at the NBA Cafe in SM Aura Bonifacio Global City Taguig, Monday, July 21.

"For us it's not a sport, it's almost a religion. It's really our passion, it's really what we love," he added.

The two-day event will be held at the Araneta Colisuem today, July 22, and tomorrow, July 23.
