MANILA, Philippines - Women's groups pushing for the passage of the Reproductive Health (RH) bill warned legislators the consequences of not enacting the measure.
Leaders of women organizations including the Reproductive Health Advocacy Network, Zone One Tondo Organization and Pambansang Koalisyon ng Kababaihan sa Kanayunan cautioned members of Congress not to take the women vote lightly.
"Remember, we can also vote for a Senator or for a congressional district representative...Gusto nyo po ba sa inyong posisyon?" Fatima Pir Allian, auditor of the Tawi-Tawi based Nisa Ulf Haqq il Bangsanmoro.
Women leaders also declared "war" against the two senators --Juan Ponce Enrile and Vicente Sotto III-- whom they claimed have lost "love" and support of the women sector.
