philstar.com - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – According to P-Noy’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 26 at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City, aside from coming up with new laws, existing laws should also be strengthened and reviewed to fit the current needs of the people.

He cited that the Procurement Law and the National Defense Act should be amended while the Witness Protection Program should be strengthened. He also suggested new bills such as the Fiscal Responsibility Bill, Anti-Trust Law, National Land Use and the Whistleblower’s Bill to help solve specific sectoral concerns.

Lastly he urged each one to remain vigilant and to actively participate in making change happen, which is part of every citizen’s responsibility in nation building.
