Thoughts to guide us by For January 2014

Elvie Punzalan-Estavillo - The Philippine Star

Welcome warmly the New Year full of hope for better life to make up for the resilience-and-faith-testing year past.

Life is like a tapestry! We choose the threads, colors and designs of the tapestry we make. Let us then choose threads signifying hope, colors portraying positivism, and designs that evoke love of country, discipline, genuine concern for others — as our threads are intertwained. Together we make the canvass of our country’s destiny. Our fate hinges on our country’s fate!

Words are alive, so crowd our minds with positive uplifting thoughts at all times to drive away negativism and crab mentality … till they become our second nature, and make this New Year — a peaceful, safe, healthy, happy, prosperous one … for us and everyone … as we are interconnected to one another!

With hard work and resilience — which we admirably showed to the world, and sure-footed faith in God — turn our burdens into blessings. Through hard work, we gain character. Through pain and struggle, we learn discipline. Through faith, we acquire courage.

Set forth our minds and spirits in helping build the beautiful, peaceful, prosperous country we all dream of!!! United, we can do it! It shall be done!

Peace and abundance to us all!
