Amusing story

I react to your rather amusing story at my expense, “Drilon: Phl chancery with wiener view embarrassing” by Marvin Sy.

I am three years retired from service, and memory may not serve well. I remember having the pleasure of taking Senator and Mme. Franklin Drilon to Laserré restaurant in Paris and out of town; but I do not recall showing him a Chancery in Berlin with a view of overhanging sausages.

Unless Ambassador Maria Natividad has moved it, our Berlin Chancery which I set up is at the 6th floor at corner Uhlandstrasse/Hamburgerstrasse with an oversized Bear of “Malakas” (“Maganda” tattooed on his back) at the crossroads. It has a 300 sq.m. reception area and a grand piano where our cultural attaché Andion Fernandez gave improvised concerts. Our Embassy Residence was at 5th and 6th floor of Daimler-Chrysler Bldg at fashionable Potsdammer Platz.

Could we have mixed up dramatis personae and situ in our travels? By copy of this missive, I request Senator Drilon to jog memory, either his or mine.
