'Paje assets up only by P500,000, not P10 M'

This refers to the article “Cabinet SALN: Del Rosario richest, Luistro poorest” that appeared in STAR yesterday (May 16). May we call your attention to the lead paragraph which states that ‘Secretary Ramon Paje posting the biggest increase of more than P10 million, with a net worth of P29.3 million compared to P18.8 million in 2010.”

May we point out that this statement is a gross error. Secretary Paje’s SALN in 2010 is P28.8 million not P18.8 million as stated in the story, while his 2011 SALN is P29.3 million. The increment therefore from 2010 to 2011 SALN is only P500,000, not “more than P10 million” as reported.
