I remember reading about purging activities of the NPA in the past, where members suspected of being government agents were tortured, mugged, even molested. And the kind of torture they underwent had gone to enormous lengths beyond human endurance.
It was sad because the members suspected could have been innocent and loyal members. Despite all this they continue to be blind to the NPA rules because they feel that they “belong”. Even now, these purging activities may still be going on, who knows.
What came to my mind was the recent brutal hazing of San Beda Frat member and law student Marvin Reglos who opted to join an organization to “belong”, and in the end, was to cause his untimely death. I could imagine the torture undergone by suspected NPA members, those supposed government agents, and it maybe comparable in many ways to the hazing rites Marvin Reglos had undergone too.
It was not only inhuman and barbaric. It is 100% violation of human rights in every sense. I am not in a position to condemn fraternities or the NPA but I have all the reason to believe they are following and adhering to all that is against the law of humanity, sad to say.
