Reaching out to the public
MANILA, Philippines - I wish to thank The Philippine STAR for its support to the Department of Foreign Affairs in its public diplomacy work, particularly as we addressed the unprecedented confluence of crises these past months.
We also appreciate the valuable space you generously allotted to us to communicate the policy pronouncements of the Department, including the foreign policy address of Secretary Albert F. del Rosario which was published in the March 7 issue of The Philippine STAR.
The Department values the importance of keeping the public informed of its policies and actions. As you well know, Philippine diplomacy is made more effective when it is known to and supported by our people.
The Philippine STAR has played a vital role in helping us reach out to the public, as well the public in reaching back to us.
