Thoughts to guide us by (For September 2009)

- Elvie Punzalan-Estavillo -

MANILA, Philippines - Any act of travesty of truth necessitates cover-ups. Any dishonest act breeds a cycle of dishonest deeds. The degree of dishonest act determines the depth and width of the web of cover-up. Perpetrators of such acts inextricably get entangled in a big, sordid web of lying as cover-ups deepen. As a result, they become beholden to the people who abet such acts. Entangled persons are compromised! Hostages of their own acts . . . absolutely incapable of moral enlightenment!

Sadly, some people refuse to heed the precious lessons and wisdom of the not-too-distant past. They disregard the historically-proven-but-oftentimes-ignored reality that they may fool some people at some times, but they cannot fool all the people at all times. They may be able to get away with some lies, cheating, stealing and cover-ups with some people at some times, but — as sure as the day follow the night — truth shall catch up with them.

TRUTH is incontrovertible — no matter how some people may attack, twist, twirl and deride it. In God’s own time and mysterious ways, truth will surface and break step with the bodyguard of lies and cover-ups. Truth will always prevail and — like a filled-to-the-brim-with-lies-dam — can burst and engulf them. Consistent acts of dishonesty can wrought impoverishing-devastating-and-immoral-effects for our beloved land and the generations to come. Peace and prosperity will not reign in our country if we keep allowing “history to repeat itself.” Its time to reverse the tide of complacency . . . NOW!

Peace and abundance to us all!!!
