Unsolicited advice for Manny Pacquiao

-

Manny, please do not run for Congress that is condemned as so corrupt and immoral. Para kang papasok sa baboy coral na napakabaho. People will perceive you as corrupted even if you stay clean. You can better serve your constituents in Sarangani as Governor, but please consider this only after retiring from boxing. Campaigning is very tedious. You will experience sleepless nights, which will greatly affect your health that will also affect your boxing career. Masakit matalo!

Sarangani like General Santos will not vote for you now because they love you and they do not want the Filipinos champ and hero to be distracted by politics, which will affect your boxing career. I bet you will win by landslide without campaigning after retiring from boxing. Concentrate ka na lang muna sa boxing. Saka na ang politics. Finish first what God gave you.

You are a National Treasure, a hero, people’s champion not only in the Philippines but the whole world. You have brought prestige and honor to our country. You are an inspiration to Filipinos especially to boxers. Filipinos are very proud of you. You are blessed by God. Keep up the good work.

Do you know that you can recommend bills to Congress even as plain Manny Pacquiao, which will be approved into law faster than being a Congressman? Send copies of your bills to media for publication and all Congressmen will grab to sponsor it. But if you are a Congressman, they will scrutinize your bills and ask many questions that will even embarrass you. In Congress they will scratch your back if you scratch their back too. Sometimes, you will be forced to vote in favor of a bill against your will. Ganyan sa Congress. Still want to be a Congressman? — Cesar S. Reyes, e-mail: [email protected]
