Siklab Youth Awards lalarga ngayon
MANILA, Philippines — Magniningning ang gabi dahil pararangalan ang mga natatanging kabataang atleta sa Nickel Asia Corporation Siklab Youth Sports Awards 2024 nga-yong araw sa Market! Market! Activity Center Ayala Malls BGC.
Nangunguna sa listahan ang mga bagitong world champions na sina Tachiana Mangin ng taekwondo at weightlifters Angeline Colonia at Lovely Inan na nagpasiklab sa kani-kanyang events.
Nagreyna si Mangin sa women’s -49 kilogram class ng World Taekwondo Junior Championships na ginanap sa Chuncheon, South Korea.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon sa loob ng tatlong dekada na muling nagkaroon ng world champion ang Pilipinas sa naturang world meet.
Huling nanalo si Alex Borromeo sa men’s -47kg division noong 1996 edis-yon sa Barcelona, Spain.
Namayagpag naman si Colonia sa women’s 45kg habang nanaig si Inan sa 49kg sa 2024 International Weightlifting Federation World Junior Championships sa Leon, Spain.
Makakasama ng tatlo sina 2024 US Junior Girls champion Rianne Mikhaela Malixi ng golf at wushu artists Alexander Gabriel Delos Reyes gayundin sina Asian junior gymnastics gold medalist Karl Eldrew Yulo at table tennis youth champion Kheith Rhynne Cruz sa programang suportado ng Philippine Sports Commission, MVP Sports Foundation, Ayala Malls at Smart.
Pasok din sa listahan ng awardees sina muay thai world-beaters Janbrix Ramiscal at Lyre Anie Ngina, chess Olympiad gold medalist Ruelle Canino para naman sa Super Kids Award category sa event na inorganisa ng Philippine Sports Commission-Phi-lippine Paralympic Committee-Philippine Olympic Committee (PSC-PPC-POC) Media Group.
May apat na special awards para kina Olympic boxing medalist Nesthy Petecio (Sports Idol), longtime sports manager Terry Capistrano (Godfather of the Year), youth sports supporters Bong Go (Lifetime Achievement Award) at Quezon City Representative Arjo Atayde (Trailblazer of the Year Award).
Kasama rin sa listahan ng mga pararangalan sina swimmers Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh at Behrouz Mohammad Mojdeh sa programang suportado ng CEL Logistics, Go For Gold, Milo, San Miguel Corporation, Barley+Wheatgrass Entrepro, Pacquiao Coffee at PLDT.
Ang iba pang awar-dees ay sina three-time jiu-jitsu world champion Aleia Aielle Aguilar, Palarong Pambansa multiple gold medalist Albert Jose Amaro II (seven golds) ng swimming at sina Youth Heroes Awardees world youth champion Isabella Butler ng ju-jitsu, Ana Bhianca Espenilla (athletics), John Andre Aguja (cycling), JR Pandi (badminton), Brandon Sanchez (baseball), Kieffer Alas (basketball) at Marc Dylan Custodio (bowling).
