MANILA, Philippines — At least 7,153 policemen would be deployed to secure schools in Metro Manila as thousands of students return to school during the opening of classes on June 3, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Maj. Gen.Guillermo Eleazar said yesterday.
The NCRPO’s goal, according to Eleazar, is to ensure that no untoward incident would mar the opening of school year 2019-2020.
“We will be everywhere, especially our police detectives who would secure students and other commuters inside buses and passenger jeepneys,” Eleazar said as he warned criminals not to take advantage of the situation.
The policemen will be augmented by some 8,627 force multipliers, like bantay-bayan members, communication groups and non-government organizations, to man traffic and guide students and their parents to their destinations.
