Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Manila is urging Filipinos to avail themselves of Taiwan’s postgraduate scholarship programs and Mandarin course.

TECO opened for application its scholarships for master’s and doctorate degrees and Mandarin language course.

Under the leadership of  Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan is pushing forward the New Southbound Policy, TECO said.

TECO has opened more slots and types of scholarship programs, giving more chances for Filipinos to study in Taiwan, learn the traditional Mandarin language, experience the rich and vibrant Taiwanese culture and broaden their international perspectives.

Gary Song-Huann Lin, Taiwan representative to the Philippines, said he hopes more Filipinos will seize these opportunities to study and experience Taiwan, “as the two countries share a lot of commonalities and could really work together.”

For more information, check the “Study in the Taiwan” section in official website of TECO in the Philippines at http://www.roc-taiwan.org/ph or contact TECO’s Press Division at t[email protected].
