DepEd warns vs solicitation scams

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd) is warning the public about mobile phone scams seeking donations for bogus projects. 

DepEd said several of its field personnel have received calls from a person claiming to be Secretary Armin Luistro. 

“The person is asking for details on education partners and contractors for solicitation purposes, using the numbers 0977-7976819 and 0977-7976818,” DepEd said. 

DepEd requests those who will receive such phone calls to report details to its action center at (02) 6361663 and (02) 6331942.
