MANILA, Philippines - Another batch of 1,263 Las Pinas youths who graduated from Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Information Technology Training Institute (DFCAITTI) were feted recently and urged to take the national certificate (NC) assessment test for better employment opportunity.
Mayor Vergel Aguilar congratulated this year’s 747 scholars who completed the computer programming and hardware servicing course, and 516 who finished visual graphics and 3D animation.
Aguilar also assured the new graduates of continuous support, including making available at the school campus the conduct of evaluation tests necessary to acquire the certificate equivalent to trade testing, usually given at the TESDA main center or at accredited schools but with higher fees.
Visual graphics and 3D animation graduates who pass the assessment test will be issued NC III, while computer hardware servicing will have NC II.
“We are committed to give you opportunities to free education and I urged you to make the most of it for you and your family’s better future,” Aguilar told the scholars.
IT graduates have found employment through the city’s Public Employment Service Office or through DFCAITTI’s partnership with industry movers, while others have put up their own computer shop or visual arts business.
Aside from the free tuition, Aguilar said students have free rides going to school to ease the burden of parents for their transport fares. Tricycle operators in barangay Pamplona III were commissioned by the city government to provide free rides to the IT scholars.
