SMF and Deutsche Bank turn over new school bldg

MANILA, Philippines - SM Prime Holdings through the SM Foundation and Deutsche Bank AG Manila recently turned over a one-storey, four-classroom building to the Florentino Joya Elementary School in Barangay Biga, Tanza, Cavite. Walls of each classroom are painted with colorful murals depicting moral values painstakingly done by employees of Deutsch Bank during their weekends. Armchairs, teacher’s table and chair, wall fans and blackboard are provided in each classroom as well as toilets. Textbooks and workbooks from Children International were also donated, and received by school principal Antonne B. Bonina.

This is the 9th schoolbuilding project of both SMFI and Deutsche Bank: the first,  Llano Elementary School in Caloocan followed with schoolbuildings in the Bacoor National High School in Cavite; the  Sitio Tapayan Elementary School and M.I. Santos Memorial High School both  in Taytay;  D. Tuason Elementary School in Quezon City;  San Manuel Elementary in San  Jose del Monte;  Tanza Elementary School in Navotas City and the Pateros Elementary School.

Aside from SM Foundation executives led by Debbie Sy, executive director of SMFI and Linda Atayde, executive director for Education, Deutsche Bank Ag Manila chief operating officer Atty. Rhoneil Fajardo, guests from local government unit, represented by Councilor Alexis B. Dones  and Barangay Captain Raymundo Joya as well as SM Rosario Mall manager Roxanne A. Pangilinan and Asst. Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Editha Atendido graced the event.
