Partnership to advance education

MANILA, Philippines - Wireless leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Educational Innovation and Technology (SEAMEO INNOTECH), a specialized regional center established under the Charter of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization, have agreed to collaborate amid the massive reforms being undertaken in the Philippine education sector. The partnership will leverage on the knowledge resources and expertise of both institutions in their respective fields.  The collaboration is seen to significantly contribute towards meeting the country’s commitment to the Millennium Development Goals for education, the ‘Education for All’ goal and the fulfillment of the ASEAN Vision 2015.  Representing SEAMEO INNOTECH are (from left) Benito Benoza, manager, and Dr. Ramon Bacani, center director; and from Smart, Public Affairs Group head Ramon Isberto and head of community partnerships Darwin Flores.
