VCIS looks for home study scholars

MANILA, Philippines - Victory Christian International School (VCIS) is looking for 300 scholars who may avail of the VCIS Home Study Program for school year 2013-2014.

There will be 300 scholarships available to include free tuition. The first 100 enrollees will receive a three-year scholarship, the next 100 will get a two-year grant, and the last 100 will get one year free tuition.

Anchored on Bible principles, the VCIS Home Study Program encourages students to learn and acquire information by engaging their visual, auditory, and tactile-kinesthetic learning styles. It also provides a customized educational experience at home with able support, supervision and guidance of the school.

VCIS’ home study program focuses not only on core subjects — Math, Science, and English — but on a variety of activities based on students’ passion and talents through the school’s Excellence Track programs: Robolinkz, Basketball, Fencing, Taekwondo, Ballet, Musical Band Training and Street Dance.

Unlike other home school programs wherein the parents are left to handle their child’s schooling, in the VCIS HomeStudy program, the school is more involved in the education of the child. Hence, there is a partnership between the parents and the school, giving the child the best of both worlds: a customized educational experience at home and the supervision and guidance of the school.

Parents and students are also given exclusive access to the VCIS HomeStudy online community. Parents are also taught HomeStudy teaching strategies as well as given recommendations from other parents and professional practitioners.

Although the student’s schooling is carried out at home, students have plenty of opportunities to interact, learn, and have fun with other students through activities such as chapel periods, Rockolympics, Family Fun Day, field trips, digital film festivals, and interschool competitions, among others.
