Wyeth and Synergeia provide better nutrition to undernourished 1st graders

MANILA, Philippines - Over 1,600 grade one public school students will be fed and nourished in school for the rest of the school year.

This is because Wyeth, with its “Wyeth Threebies Promo,” has sponsored nutritious meals for public school students, through its partnership with the Synergeia Foundation — an organization that helps less fortunate kids do better in school.

The daily meal plan was carefully crafted by Wyeth’s nutritionist to ensure that the kids will get the proper nutrients they need.

“We are very happy with the turnout of our Wyeth Threebies Promo. Not only were we able to help provide better nutrition for consumers and their families, but we were also able to provide proper nutrition to under-privileged school children who need it most,” says Wyeth Philippines communications associate director Richard Arboleda.

Students in grade one are the most affected by hunger, having the highest number of absenteeism leading to dropouts. By providing them with healthy meals, the school officials are very optimistic that attendance and performance among the participating students will improve as the feeding program progresses.

“On behalf of the schools and parents of the student beneficiaries, we would like to thank Wyeth Philippines for partnering with us to ensure the welfare of students through proper nutrition,” says Synergeia Foundation vice chairman Dr. Antonio Torralba. “We are one with Wyeth in taking this step to minimize malnutrition in the country,” adds Dr. Torralba.

The following Wyeth products participated in this Wyeth Threebies Promo: Enercal Plus, ProMama, Aqiva, Bonakid Choco Boost, Bonakid Pre-School, Promil Pre-School, and Progress Pre-School Gold.
