MANILA, Philippines - To help educational institutions in their funding requirements, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a two-day pioneering seminar for school owners, administrators, management and everyone interested in generating funds for their school entitled “Fundraising for Schools: Best Practices Guide for School Owners and Management,” scheduled on Jan. 24 and 25, at The Peninsula Manila, Makati City.
The experts in this field will share with their secrets of raising funds successfully. They will reveal to you creative ways, proven systems, and sure-fire techniques to tap donors and benefactors to get them to participate in your fundraising campaigns, endowment programs, scholarships, research grant needs, professorial chairs and many more. They will also teach you the best practices in setting up a development office which handles fundraising functions of model institutions. This special event will also include best practices in institutional linkages, with many insights on internationalization programs for schools. This seminar will provide you fundraising benchmarks including global best practices examples from Harvard and Yale universities in the US.

This best practices program will feature four experts in generating funds for schools to be led by Jose M. Kalaw who institutionalized the most systematic model fundraising campaign for DLSU. He was the vice president & executive director of the development and alumni relations office of De La Salle University (2002 to 2010). He generated multi-million funding for scholarships, professorial chairs, research studies, and physical facilities.
It will also feature Alvin B. Culaba, PhD who is preresently the executive vice president for external relations and internationalization of De La Salle University. He will share his knowledge in developing linkages with local and international institutions.
The third lecturer is Ma. Victoria Mercado who is the development officer of De La Salle Philippines in-charge of donor generation for the 16 De La Salle schools. Her scope of activities where she will share her best practices experiences includes conceptualization, design, communication, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of various institutional fundraising projects.
It will also feature Robespierre C. Porsovigan, development, alumni & external relations and special projects officer of De La Salle Canlubang. He trains people on resource generation techniques through mail and telemarketing.
