1st World Education Exhibition set
MANILA, Philippines - While many Filipinos aspire to get into universities abroad, the lack of knowledge and orientation on the processes of getting proper student visas proves to be a stumbling block.
For instance, one of the important requirements of colleges and universities abroad, particularly those in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada and US, are the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results. Made up of four parts — Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing – the IELTS determines the applicant’s level of English proficiency.
Aside from administering IELTS examinations in their office in Manila, IDP Philippines guides students who want to study abroad through counselling sessions and knowledge-based program where they match students with the right courses and institutions.
Established in Manila in 1985, IDP Philippines is a student placement firm that has been sending thousands of students abroad. In 2008, they opened their Cebu office in order to support market growth in Visayas and Mindanao.
Andrew King, IDP Philippines country director, says they present things as they are, without false promises.
“We hold a one-day familiarization workshop so the people who are going to take the test know exactly what’s going to happen. We have them practice some of the things that are possibly on the test just to reduce their anxieties about the IELTS. It doesn’t have a pass-fail mark, it simply gives you the level of your English. We also offer assistance in processing your visa requirements, counselling sessions for prospective students who wish to study abroad but cannot think of a course to get. We give them a list of the best courses and institutions based on a couple of things like, financial ability relatives in the area, and so on.
IDP Philippines is bringing students closer to their dream of studying abroad in an easy and organized manner. IDP Philippines is set to hold the 1st World Education Exhibition on Nov. 16, at the Marriott Hotel in Cebu and Nov. 17-18 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila. The event offers free admission, free seminar and free consultation to participants of the event. Register at [email protected], or [email protected]
