Most transformative schools to win more than P2 M in prizes
MANILA, Philippines - More than P2 million in combined cash prize will be awarded to seven schools who move their schools from ‘good’ to ‘great’ and defied ‘trials’ and transform them into ‘triumphs’. The seven winners of the 2nd Excellence in Educational Transformation Awards (EETA) will be awarded a trophy and a cash prize of P300,000 each. A top award, the EETA Most Transformative School for Learning Effectiveness and Efficiency Award, will receive a trophy and P500,000 cash.
More than the cash prize, the EETA pays tribute to the best practices and educational techniques that are worth sharing with other schools. The EETA winners will serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to schools striving to improve their learning environments.
Bayan Academy, Rex Book Store and The Knowledge Channel, the acknowledged leaders in promoting quality education in the Philippines, is the group behind the EETA search. The annual award, now accepting entries until Oct. 30, is open to all elementary and secondary schools, both public and private, who have introduced meaningful and beneficial innovations in their own scholastic environments, uplifting standards through a deliberate process involving stakeholder groups, and learning from the lessons provided by their transformation strategies and programs.
“The EETA motivates schools to pursue academic excellence and efficient school administration. The winners exemplify transformation, which refers to the ability of the school to innovate and manage changes, to improve and turn around a difficult situation and to upgrade or uplift education standards,” said Dr. Eduardo Morato Jr., Bayan Academy president.
The pioneer batch of winners was led by overall winner Elizabeth Seton School of Las Piñas City and institutions like St. Paul College of San Rafael, Bulacan; Assumpta Technical High School of San Simon, Pampanga; Pembo Elementary School in Makati City; Claret School of Zamboanga in Zamboanga City; Ednas School of San Carlos City, Pangasinan; and Colegio San Agustin in Makati City. These schools were recognized for their varied takes on the following areas of innovation: Curriculum design, learning materials, learning methodologies, administrative systems and processes, and learning spaces and places for learning effectiveness.
