ARMS lets schools manage records, operations efficiently

MANILA, Philippines - An Indian business software company has launched in the Philippines a low-cost school management solution that would greatly help educational institutions manage their academic records and operations efficiently.

Focus Softnet country manager Venkat NCS said the Academic Record Management Software (ARMS) is a single software solution that integrates modules managing vital information relating to schools.

“Basically this software covers all the modules of the school like admission, scheduling, library. If you look at the schools in the Philippines they have an IT (information technology) department but they do not use a total integrated solution,” Venkat told The STAR during the product launch at the Diamond Hotel.

He said the system that the Philippine schools use presently is costly because they utilize different software.

ECCI, one of the leading process improvement solutions providers in Southeast Asia, partnered with Focus Softnet to bring ARMS to the Philippine market.

Focus Softnet assistant vice president Balagopal said schools could save costs by integrating individual software. ARMS will also make life easier for province-based families whose children study in Metro Manila.

“The students can view exam results while sitting at home...they can pay school fees and there this no need to line up in schools through this system,” Balagopal said.

Venkat said they have already introduced the system to some schools in Metro Manila, including the Adamson University and San Sebastian College.

Subburaman said the system is successfully deployed in 300 universities in the Middle East and India.
