New schoolhouse rises in Antipolo

MANILA, Philippines - GfK Asia Pte Ltd and SM Prime Holdings, through SM Foundation, have joined forces to put up a two-story, four-classroom schoolhouse in Muntindilaw National High School located in Barangay Muntindilaw, Antipolo City. The joint project, meant to address the classroom shortage in the country, is an initiative response of private business entities to the Adopt-a-School Program of the Department of Education.

The inaugurated school building is the 37th so far built by the SM Foundation, this time in partnership with GfK Asia Pte Ltd, a global market research organization with Joaquin Savellano Jr. as its Philippines country general manager. The school building came complete with books, student desks, teacher’s table, blackboards, electric fans and complete toilet facilities per classroom.

The schoolhouse was officially turned over by the donors led by GfK Asia Pte Ltd regional commercial director Stanley Kee and SMFI executive director for Education Linda Atayde, to the local government of Antipolo represented by Vice Governor Frisco San Juan Jr. and a representative of Rep. Puno, Pauline de Dios.
