The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - After leading the recent Optometry board exams, Centro Escolar University alumnus Dr. Kendrick Nigel Tan reached another milestone as he was named one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines.

Dr. Tan was a former student leader and a consistent Dean’s Lister of the CEU College of Optometry. He was an Ayala Young Leader, a CEU Model President, and a CEU Outstanding Student. As an all around role model, he was also named Mr. CEU 2008, Mr. NAASCU 2008 and Mr. University Philippines 2008. With all the knowledge and experiences he acquired in the university, Dr. Tan led a batch of CEU Optometry graduates to become topnotchers in the 2011 Optometrist Licensure examinations in which he took the number one spot.

The TOSP started in 1961 and aimed to recognize excellence among students in three dimensions such as: academics, leadership, and social responsibility. TOSP is sponsored by RFM Foundation, Inc. and the Philippine Long Distance Co. in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education-NCR and the Outstanding Students of the Philippines Alumni Community-NCR Chapter.
