MANILA, Philippines - Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) in southern Mindanao has once again qualified for the national competition of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Philippines set this July. With its competition entry Access Campus Team, SKSU qualified based on its projects aimed at empowering their stakeholders in applying business and economic concepts and an entrepreneurial approach to improve the quality of life and standard of living. This gives SKSU another shot at representing the country in the SIFE World Cup 2011 edition to be held in Los Angeles, California, USA. The SKSU was also SIFE national champion in 2004 and 2005, and a runner up in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 national championships. In February 2011, Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) and SIFE Philippines organized an orientation in February 2011 attended by 67 college students and faculty representing 18 colleges and universities in South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and Davao del Sur. This is with the end in view of encouraging more and more schools in southern Mindanao to become active members of SIFE Philippines.
