MFI Scholars' Day set June 24

MANILA, Philippines -  A total of 568 students who successfully passed the requirements for scholarship of MFI Technological Institute (formerly Meralco Foundation Institute) will be honored during the 29th Scholars’ Day to be held on June 24, 2011 at the MFI Gym.

Of the total number of scholars, 245 passed for the 1st year in the Industrial Technician Program (ITP) and Information Technology (IT); 179 for 2nd year; and 202 for the 3rd year.

This year’s affair is also the school’s recognition day for students who excelled during the last school year. There will be awarding of medals to honor students.

MFI students spend several month of in-plant training from the institute to the real workplace in accordance with the requirements of industry. The training is industry-geared to acquire accurate knowledge of what is expected of them.

Apart from the usual knowledge and skills, MFI students have developed attitudes towards work and adaptability to various working conditions as well as becoming more productive. As a result, MFI scholars get employed even before they graduate.
