The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - PJ Lhuillier Foundation Inc. (PJLFI) celebrated its 10th anniversary by adding 80 scholarships to its national scholarship program.

The Foundation’s national scholarship program has helped hundreds of high school and college students since 2009. It has generated 222 graduates, several of them with academic honors.

Ambassador Philippe Lhuillier, founder and chairman of the PJ Lhuillier Foundation, commended the Foundation for giving not only charity but also courage to Filipinos who need its help.

“Without them, our dream, my family’s dream to help the people get through the toughest times of their lives would be in vain,” he said during the celebration at Villamor Airbase in Pasay City.

The PJLFI has other programs such as feeding programs, medical missions, relief operations, and holiday outreaches.

“The Foundation’s goal is to help people improve their quality of life. We must not only give them opportunities, but also provide them the capability to seize these opportunities,” said PJ Lhuillier president and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier.

Among the guests during the anniversary were St. Louis University president Fr. Jessie Hechanova, UNILAB president Clinton Hess, UP Singing Ambassadors founder and conductor Ed Manguiat, Philippine STAR Operation Damayan representative Emie Cruz, and San Manuel National High School principal Wilfredo Paras.
