Electrolux Design Lab 2011 competition on

MANILA, Philippines - The Electrolux Design Lab invites undergraduate and graduate industrial design students worldwide to create new, revolutionary home appliances for a chance to win cash prizes and a six-month design internship.

Now on its 9th year, the Electrolux Design Lab chooses “Intelligent Mobility” as the theme for this year’s competition. Intelligent Mobility underlies three concepts and trends of modern technology - sensitive in meeting the needs of consumers, flexible in adapting to the diverse activities of people and empowering in giving the consumers the control to operate home systems while at home or away.

Cash prizes and a once in a lifetime opportunity await the winners. Global prizes include first prize of 5000€ (P350,000+) and a paid six-month internship at one of Electrolux Group’s design centers. Second prize is 3000€ (P200,000+) while the third place will get 2000€ (P140,000+).
