PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines - Two thousand public elementary and secondary school teachers handling Mathematics have been required by the Department of Education (DepEd) region 9 office here to undergo a two-day national seminar-workshop on the subject this summer. The activity seeks to improve the instructional skills of the mentors many of whom are not specialists in Mathematics. DepEd Region 9 Director Walter Albos said the teacher-participants from the schools divisions of Zamboanga del Sur and Pagadian City will attend the seminar-workshop on April 29-30 in Pagadian City; those from Zamboanga Sibugay, Isabela City (Basilan) and Zamboanga City, in Ipil town on May 2-3, and those from Zamboanga del Norte, Dipolog City and Dapitan City, in Dipolog City on May 5-6.
