MANILA, Philippines - Talkshop, the country’s premiere communication training center and an affiliate of the US-based International English Education Research Association (IEERA), is holding monthly seminars on English Communication Excellence at the Asian Institute of Management, ACCM Bldg., starting out with “Speech Eloquence and Presentation Skills” on Jan. 15, 2011. Communication guru Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO, facilitates the workshop, which is open to all professionals, educators and students who intend to hone their confidence and credence in public speaking.
The one-day event will highlight TalkShop’s Integrated Language Teaching (ILT) approach which Viesca pioneered in the country in 2002. She explains, “This is what makes us distinct: we interweave all language skills - speaking , writing, reading, and listening - while focusing on grammar accuracy. This is through activities and discussions that fuse the interactive, communicative teaching methods of the West with the creative learning styles of the East, for a cohesive approach. Beyond this, our values-laden workshops are enriching as they are engaging.”
Workshops by Talkshop come at a critical time when Filipinos need to brush up on their eroding language skills, while its Asian neighbors are emerging to be globally competent.
TalkShop communication workshops are designed for the global professionals, educators, consultants, students; anyone eyeing advancement or preparing to work overseas or in call centers and BPOs. Business establishments and corporations stand to gain much with articulate, confident, and effective personnel who bring the corporate image up to par and realize sales targets.
