MANILA, Philippines - The teaching profession is considered the noblest and most admirable of all. The intellectual and moral fiber of a nation is woven by the sacrifices and passion of a teacher. Recognizing the value of the teaching profession, the Meralco Development Center (MMLDC) conducts its annual Educators’ Forum which gathers teachers from partner DepEd Divisions. The Educators’ Forum is where the teachers’ commitment and passion are strengthened as they receive words of inspiration and knowledge from noteworthy speakers. This year, the 5th MMLDC Educators’ Forum took a different path with the staging of an educational play entitled “Ang Guro” that pays tribute to the unsung heroes of our country. More than a thousand educators from Pasig, Rizal, Caloocan, Antipolo, and as far as Calabarzon and Mimaropa attended the show, which was held at the Meralco Theater. “The play also is an innovative approach for learning and advocating the advancement of the teaching profession. We want to show appreciation to the teachers and their personal and professional sacrifices and at the same time, provide quality entertainment value for them,” said Vivien Arnobit, MMLDC’s director for academic services.
