UST gears up for 1st Grand Global Trade Expo 2010

-

MANILA, Philippines - Successful Thomasian Alumni turned business leaders and established entrepreneurs will gather for the 1st ever Thomasian Global Trade Expo (TGTE) from Oct. 15 to 17, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center. Organized by the University of Santo Tomas, the Thomasian Leaders Alumni Association (TALA) and the UST Alumni Association, Inc. (USTAAI), the expo is a prelude to the university’s grand Quadricentennial Celebration in 2011, and aims to showcase Thomasian-owned or led corporations as well as small and medium enterprises making a mark in the country and contributing to nation building. It will feature a wide array of products and services, including those in manufacturing, franchising, retail, information technology, construction, wellness, and pharmaceutical among others.

This is the first time that the University Of Santo Tomas (UST), in its 400-year old history, will have this kind of activity showcasing collectively, the contributions of its alumni, especially those from the business sector, to Philippine society and to the rest of the world. The TGTE is indeed one of the major highlights of UST’s Q Celebration.

The SMX Convention Center in Pasay City will turn into a huge Thomasian city where exhibitors will be zoned in several villages namely, (1) Food, (2) Wellness, Health, and Tourism, (3) Manufacturing, (4) Design and Architecture, (5) Retail, (6) Information Technology, and (7) Professional Services. Students of the University will also participate in the Expo where they will have a chance to establish contacts and network with the UST alumni for their future careers. Renowned business gurus, management experts and entrepreneurs will share their best practices via lectures and interactive sessions during the event. The TGTE is surely a big celebration showcasing UST’s best...400 years of glory and service to the Church and the Filipino people.
