MANILA, Philippines - Starting this school year, parents of Claret school in Quezon City can be assured that their children are safely in their school because of a new system developed jointly by Claret and Sun Cellular’s Message Cast service. As soon as the students swipe their identification (ID) cards into the machine at the school gate, the system immediately informs their parents via text/SMS that their children are already in school. Same process when the students swipe their IDs at dismissal time. All of this is in real time powered by the Sun Cellular network.
Not only that, the Sun Message Cast is also used to announce reminders, upcoming activities or events, and notifications in cases of class suspensions.
The best thing about the Sun Message Cast is that it is open to all parents, regardless of networks they subscribe to. “The system is a web-based application that allows sending of SMS across all networks. We also see the importance on how Claret will embrace the technology to improve security inside the campus,” says Ronnel Jiao, Sun Cellular corporate solutions senior manager.
