Experts hold seminar on best practices in corporate housekeeping
MANILA, Philippines - A Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE)-accredited seminar entitled “Best practices in corporate housekeeping: The experts’ guide on how to be an effective corporate secretary” will be conducted by the Center for Global Best Practices on June 23 and 24 at the Edsa Shangri-La, Mandaluyong City. This special pioneering program teaches board directors, lawyers, and CPAs the knowledge and professional skills on how to be an effective corporate secretary and how to perform the functions of corporate housekeeping.
This one-day seminar would be of special benefit to, among others, corporations, business owners, directors and managers who may want to know how to best use the services of the corporate secretary, new lawyers who may wish to learn the best practices in corporate housekeeping. This kind of specialized training is not available and taught in any school in the country.
The program will feature Atty. Tristan Catindig (A.B., cum laude, UP 1962; LL.B., cum laude, UP 1966; LL.M., Harvard Law School, Harvard University scholar, 1969) who has been in corporate law practices for more than 40 years, 26 years of which were with the largest law firm in the Philippines, SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, where he was senior partner and head, corporate services department. The second lecturer will be Atty. A. Bayani K. Tan (A.B., Valedictorian, San Beda College 1976, LL.B., UP 1980; Master of Law, New York University; 6th place, 1981 Bar examinations) who is the managing partner of the Tan Venturanza Valdez Law Office. Presently, he is a board director of 15 firms and assigned as corporate secretary to 26 of some of the largest publicly listed and private corporations.
