MANILA, Philippines - Enderun Colleges officially conferred diplomas to its first batch of graduates.
The ceremony, held at The Atrium of the College, honored 41 bright young individuals who have successfully completed academic study to earn an Enderun degree. Among them are 14 graduates and 25 candidates for graduation for the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management major in Hotel Administration or Culinary Arts, and two new bearers of the ADF+Enderun Certificate in Culinary Arts.
General manager of Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur and Enderun’s staunch supporter, Martyn Standen, in his commencement address expressed the future that students will face: “This is a time of unprecedented growth. There’s a flurry of new openings in Manila, and that level of activity is being repeated all over Asia. This is the perfect time to be starting a career in hospitality…the opportunities are boundless, endless, and more than ever.”
In his commencement address, Rico Hizon, the first Filipino main anchor at BBC News Asia, spoke of the future that students will face as they walk out the halls of Enderun Colleges and step into the real world: “We all come from somewhere. And we are all moving elsewhere. Tomorrow, as you begin the rest of your lives in the real world, you will become part of different communities — some on a national level, others on a global scale.”
Hizon urged the pioneer batch to take advantage of the golden opportunity to make their own path and build the road for others, a rare chance very few people are offered.
With members of Enderun’s board of trustees, school administrators, and parents in attendance, the occasion marks a milestone in fulfilling Enderun’s vision to become a world-class management college recognized internationally for the quality of both its academic offerings and practical training.
