Best practices in credit transactions for students

-

MANILA, Philippines - Lending money is always risky business, regardless of factors like the state of the country’s economy, the nature of the transacting parties and the transaction itself and the amounts involved. Students taking up law, commerce and business courses can take the “Best Practices to Protect Lenders in Credit Transactions” on June 18 at the Peninsula Manila. Expert speakers and practitioners will teach the right approaches, best practice strategies and preventive and remedial actions in handling various credit transactions ranging from real estate and chattel mortgage to trust indenture, guarantees, suretyships; letters of credit and many more. This is a mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE)-accredited program. Lecturer is Atty. Rafael Morales, managing partner and former head of the banking, securities and finance department of Sycip Salazar Hernandez and Gatmaitan. He is an authority in credit transactions and has authored two books on commercial law and numerous legal articles. He has also been cited in the Euromoney’s Legal Media Group Guide to the world’s leading banking lawyers. He is a member of the New York bar and president-elect of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association. Another speaker is Atty. Patricia-Ann Prodigalidad, partner at Angara Abello Concepcion Regala and Cruz (ACCRA) Law Offices. An expert in commercial law and litigation, she also has a master of laws degree from Harvard Law School and has the distinction of being a number one bar topnotcher.
