Uygongco Foundation donation benefits 10 Visayas public schools
MANILA, Philippines - The La Filipina Uygongco Corp. (LFUGC) through its corporate social responsibility arm, the Uygongco Foundation has donated P3.5 million to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Adopt-A-School Program to support Education For All (EFA) goals and objectives. “We are grateful to the La Filipina Uygongco Corp. for this assistance which helps the Department of Education in its commitment to enable our public schools to be more competitive and responsive to the human development needs of our country,” Education Secretary Valisno said. “We raise our invitation to friends in the private sector to partner with us in the nation’s development, particularly in the improvement of the public education system.”

For her part, Uy shared that this initial gift is just the start of a long-term commitment of the foundation to promote human development especially for poor and marginalized people.
The initial project beneficiaries include the following selected public schools in the provinces of Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz which will receive support effective immediately: Bo. Obrero Elementary School Zone 2, Bo. Obrero, Ilolio City; Hibao-an Elementary School Hibao-an Sur, Mandurriao, Iloilo City; N.J. Ingore Elementary School Ingore, Lapaz, Iloilo City; Jordan Central School Poblacion, Jordan, Guimaras; Pres. Roxas East Elementary School Pres. Roxas, Capiz; Jalandoni Memorial National High School Abanilla St., Lapuz, Iloilo City; Fort San Pedro National High School Sto. Rosario St., Iloilo City; Buntatala National High School Buntatala, Jaro, Iloilo City; Jordan National High School Jordan, Guimaras, and Cabugcabug National High School Pres. Roxas, Capiz.
