PWU Skills Showdown set
MANILA, Philippines - The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in collaboration with The Association of International Hospitality Management Students of the Philippine Women’s University will hold a two-day “Skills Showdown 2010” starting today, March 11, 7 a.m. at the Taft campus, Manila.
With “Health and Wellness” as its theme, the event will be opened by PWU chief executive officer Alfredo Reyes to be assisted by Dr. Jose Ma. Gonzales, director Suzie Benitez and dean Dr. Milagros Magsanoc.
The event will be attended expectedly by close to a thousand guests, including the school’s hospitality industry partners and secondary level students of Metro Manila.
Magsanoc said the HRM students will compete in seven categories, namely: chef battles, kitchen master, modern Filipino dessert, baby cakes, Filipino cuisine competition, table setting and cocktail mixing.
Overall steering committee chairman Prof. Adalbert Alcaide disclosed that the judges are composed of chefs and general managers of top hotel and owners/operators of restaurants and food chains, among them Lesouffle, Via Mare and Res. 9501 of ABS-CBN.
