MANILA, Philippines - Last year was a very eventful year for Filipinos.
People from all walks of life, young and old, banded together and did their bit, just like the grade school students of Britesparks International School (BIS). For their Christmas celebration, they chose to Celebrate HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere).
The highlight of their Christmas program was the Grade School Business Fair where they transformed the whole grade school department into a small village.
The students turned their classrooms into showrooms wherein they showcased different gift and food items they themselves made. After three fun-filled hours, the program had raised close to P15,000. Every peso they made, BIS gave to their chosen beneficiary, the Children’s Garden, Inc. which was represented by their chairman, Drae Ybanez. With projects like these, BIS shows that their students benefit not only from classroom lessons but also from the experience of being actual benefactors in the real world.
Through additional special subjects in their curriculum such as the subject Enterprise, BIS stays true to their promise of preparing their students for a bright and promising future. Grades 4 to 7 students from Britesparks were exposed to the business world with their on the job training at Mossimo Store (see photos) at SM North EDSA in Quezon City last Nov. 23 and 25. During their OJT they were able to take care of customers and aid in ringing up sales. The students said they really learned a lot during their short time at Mossimo.
BIS is now accepting preschool, grade school and high school enrollees for school year 2010-2011.
