Enabling industries
Under the umbrella project Bosch Professional Skills program, which is a collaborative effort between the Bosch Power Tools division and the Philippine Contractors Association (PCA), the technical cooperation aims to provide a skills development program hinged in large part on worker safety and efficiency on the job site. Through TESDA certification and its 126 institutions nationwide, both organizations endeavor to conduct quality training to Filipino construction workers from both private and informal areas.
The program also aims to support the local construction and development sector in providing the country with needed infrastructure necessary to achieve economic growth for the future. The country’s construction establishments alone employ over 107,000 registered workers nationwide, according to the National Statistics Office’s most recent figures.
The Bosch initiative is borne from the need to provide a safer environment for local construction workers. In the future, Bosch training programs will also be conducted on-site. As construction companies invest significantly on power tools and precision equipment, the program shall train workers not only in optimizing resources but most importantly on safety at the job site.
As the program scope extends to work efficiency, these shall also redound to on-time delivery of projects that correspond with builder specifications and budget.
