World Book and Copyright Day

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of World Book and Copyright Day today, April 23, the National Book Development Board again brings to universities and university-based publishers the NBDB Academic Publishing Conference.

The first of 2009 will be at the University of the Philippines-Baguio with experts in the field of scholarly and academic publishing as guests, including Dr. Colin Leslie Day of the Hong Kong University Press, Dr. Oscar Campomanes of Ateneo de Manila, poet and Prof. J. Neil Garcia of the UP-Diliman, Dr. Isagani Cruz of DLSU Publications Office and many others.

Lawyer Louie Calvario of IP Philippines and Alvin Buenaventura of FILCOLS will speak on copyright issues and importance of copyright policies for universities.
