PUP grants scholarships
MANILA, Philippines - Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) has announced that high school graduates who are valedictorian, salutatorian, first honorable mention and campus journalist can be PUP entrance scholars.
An entrance scholar will be exempted to pay tuition fee and will not take the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET) and it is even possible that they will receive allowance from the university. Most other high school graduates who qualify as entrance scholars are the president of the supreme student council, awardees of distinctive award and outstanding artist or outstanding athlete.
Director Elena Abeleda said that entrance scholars still need to take up the PUP Scholastic Aptitude and Interest Test (PUPSAIT). The interview, the processing of the applicant’s credentials, examination and registration are scheduled on March 30–April 4.
The issuance of medical clearance and certificate of entrance scholarship grant will be on April 13–17.
For the campus journalist, a certification from the school to attest the claim as campus journalist should be provided during the interview.
