Training for employment

MANILA, Philippines - The right training can mean job opportunities and employment for many laid-off workers and for current employees of companies threatened by the global economic crisis.

As part of the government’s economic resiliency project, TESDA has recently chosen MFI Foundation Inc. (formerly Meralco Foundation Inc.) as one of its partners authorized to give skills training funded by Pangulong Gloria Scholarships. TESDA signed a memorandum of agreement on Feb. 6 with MFI Foundation along with five industrial partners.

MFI’s deal with TESDA covers the delivery of training programs in Gas Welding, GMAW, SMAW, Ref and Aircon Servicing, Computer Hardware Servicing, Computer Programming, Java, Microsoft.Net, and Technical Drafting. Applicants who pass the pre-assessment given by MFI may avail of the Pangulong Gloria scholarships.

Included in the scholarship is a daily allowance of P60 and free uniform. Participants who successfully complete the program are also given a free competency assessment by TESDA.

MFI Foundation and its operating center, the MFI Technological Institute, is locate at Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City beside the Medical City Hospital.
