University of the Philippines flies high with Teenspeak ‘18
MANILA, Philippines — Teams from the University of the Philippines dominated this year’s Teenspeak, an annual advertising competition among various colleges and universities organized by UP Advertisting Core.
University of the Philippines’ Dua Lipad emerged as Teenspeak ‘18 champion, bagging P100,000 and a trip to Malaysia, including a visit to RedQ, the main headquarters of this year’s partner client, AirAsia.
University of the Philippines’ FISH was judged 1st runner up and received P75,000. M-air-keters, also from the University of the Philippines, was 2nd runner up and received P 50,000.
The competition, launched at the University of the Philippines Diliman, University of the Philippines Manila, and the University of Santo Tomas, was participated in by college students from Metro Manila, Davao, Leyte, and Cebu.
The students participated in a boot camp designed to equip contestants with skills needed to build their integrated marketing campaigns. They then participated in an online mentorship before submitting their final papers. After that, a mentorship was held, wherein teams pitched to mentors and received final in-depth feedback on their campaigns.
The teams that made it to the finals were from University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo De Manila University, and University of Asia and the Pacific.
David Viray, Stephanie Bascos and Nadine Leoncio of AirAsia Philippines’ branding team judged the campaigns.
