MANILA, Philippines - The ASEAN Youth Leaders’ Association (AYLA) is a network of youth from Southeast Asia that empowers their fellow youth to become involved in building the ASEAN community for sustainable development, regional solidarity and creating an ASEAN identity.
This year’s AYLA ASEAN Youth Exchange on Education (AYEE) happened in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s most vibrant city, from July 3 to 9. It focused on creativity and education with the theme, “The empowering role of education: Integrating the hidden curriculum to education systems for an action-oriented youth participant towards ASEAN community building.”
Participants from Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam took part in community service, a study tour and an intensive academic program to formulate ideas and turn them into positive action as a solution for the educational challenges that the ASEAN region faces.
