UST starts new school year in August

MANILA, Philippines - The University of Santo Tomas (UST) will shift its academic calendar starting Academic Year 2015-2016.
According to a report from The Varsitarian, Secretary General Fr. Winston Cabading, O.P. released a memorandum stating that classes in UST for the next academic year will open in the first week of August.
In the new calendar, the first semester would be from August to December while the second semester will be from January to May.
The first day for classes for the first semester will be on August 10 while the first day for the second term will be on Jan. 18, 2016.
UST changed its academic calendar in time for the full implementation of the K to 12 basic education curriculum.
University of the Philippines campuses implemented academic calendar shift last August 2014.
Ateneo de Manila University is also set to shift its academic calendar starting academic year 2015-2016.
