The Ateneo de Manila University is calling for entries for the upcoming “Social Entrepreneurship Venture Day Manila 2014.” The event is a social business plan competition addressing specific social problems that can generate defined social impacts.
The SE Venture Day Manila 2014 is organized by the Peace & Equity Foundation, Ateneo-John Gokongwei School of Management, and IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
The competition is open to all social entrepreneurs who are residents of the Philippines and other South East Asian countries not more that 35 years old. Practicing social entrepreneurs for not more than three years and aspiring social entrepreneurs that have a great business idea designed to address a pressing social problem may join the competition.
The business plan should benefit Filipino communities locally or overseas and the social enterprise should be financially sustainable with a profitable revenue and expense business model not having received yet a funding of more than $50,000 or P2 million.
The entries will be judged according to the following criteria: business model, mission, vision and objectives, market strategies and competitive analysis, design and development plan, management and financial plan and written plan or pitch presentation. Winning business plans will receive a P200,000 cash award.
Deadline of submission of application is on November 3 and finalists will be informed by November 12. Finalists will make a pitch or brief presentation of their business plans in front of a panel of judges on the SE Venture Day Manila 2014 on November 28.
