41% of takers pass CPA board exam

MANILA, Philippines - About two out of five examinees for the certified public accountant licensure exam passed this year's test, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Monday.

PRC said a total of 4,246 examinees passed out of the 10,396 who took the exam this month. The results were posted six working days after the conclusion of the exam given by the Board of Accountancy in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi.

Jackson Castillejos Apostol of University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao led this year's passers with a 93.86-percent rating.

PRC said the registration for the issuance of professional identification card and certificate of registration will be on Nov. 4-6, 2013. Passing examinees are required to bring a duly accomplished oath form, current community tax certificate, one passport-size picture, two sets of metered documentary stamps and one short brown envelope with name and profession. Passers will have to pay the initial fegistration fee of P600 and annual registration fee of P450 for 2013-2016.
