ADMU students to represent Phl in 'go green' regional tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Electronics and Communications Engineering students from the Ateneo De Manila University recently won in the Schneider Electric’s “Go Green in the City” contest, clinching a spot in the East Asia finals to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. 

Lorenz Ray Payonga and Alyssa Tricia Vintola bagged the award for their entry “Oscillohump” during the announcement of winners last April 12.

Funded by Schneider Electric, a specialist in energy management, Go Green in the City is an international case challenge in which business and engineering students develop ideas for intelligent energy management. Finalists will earn career-advancement opportunities and a chance to win a trip around the world.

For the first time, students from East Asia countries like Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, including the Philippines, will have the opportunity join both regional and global competitions.

Alongside ADMU’s “Oscillohump,” Adamson University’s “Solar Powered DC Water Pump” and University of the Philippines- Diliman’s “Electricheck” were also chosen as part of the Top 3.
